Meet Donna King
Donna is a results-driven, enthusiastic, people oriented Creative Marketing professional with the ability to think both creatively and strategically. She has a proven track record in developing successful teams and business initiatives. With over 20 years of diverse experience, Donna has brought vision and innovation into advertising and catalog development in both face-paced agency and in-house environments. She has played a crucial role in building brand consistency and strong customer relations with key retail and direct mail fashion and hard goods accounts. Donna exceeded corporate objectives by implementing effective creative solutions to marketing strategies and business goals. She has made significant corporate-wide contributions in product line brand development and spearheaded continuous cross-functional process improvement initiatives. She has expertise in strategic planning, brand development, creative and account management, project management, process improvement, organizational development and talent acquisition and training.Donna joined Results Coaching in July 2008 when she became certified as a program leader and facilitator for the BEST YEAR YET Program, a proven process designed to help individuals and companies get the results they need to move their business to higher levels of performance. She helps to align and focus teams on the results that will make a difference. Prior to becoming a BEST YEAR YET Program leader, Donna held the position of Director of Creative Services at Oriental Trading Company in Omaha, NE, a multi-channel retailer. She was responsible for building and managing a team of over 70 people. It was at OTC that Donna was first introduced to the Best Year Yet program. She and the marketing executives utilized the program for over 2 years and implemented the cascade program to their next management level. Donna was so intrigued and impressed with the results of the program that she wanted to share the program with others. Both Creative Counts and the Best Year Yet program dovetails beautifully with her interest in helping leaders, teams and individuals reach their true potential.
Along with Donna's positive energy and natural ability to prompt ideas and inspire, she utilizes the Best Year Yet principles in helping creative talent translate marketing objectives into creative solutions that ultimately meet and exceed business goals. Through the power of creative thinking, individuals, teams and organizations deliver on their promise and achieve higher levels of performance and business results.
Before being recruited to OTC in 2001, Donna was VP of Account Services at Shasho Jones Direct Inc, a full-service creative marketing agency in NYC that she co founded. Donna started her career in advertising at AGA, a catalog marketing & production firm also in NYC. She graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts & Communications. She is a member of Heartland Coaches Association where she volunteers her services as Website Manager and serves as 2011 HCA Secretary. Donna is also a member of KCASTD (training & development).
Donna continues to explore and rediscover her own CREATIVITY. She enjoys her mid-westerner lifestyle at home in Shawnee, KS with her husband, Tracy and her dog, Elvis. She loves to draw, cook, kickbox, practice yoga and socialize with friends and family.
